Bethlehem Lutheran Church is affiliated with the Minnesota North District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. The Baudette and Warroad congregations are joined in fellowship and through a joint parish agreement.
It was organized in 1937 following thirteen years of work by Missouri Synod missionaries in our area of northern Minnesota. The first organizational meeting of what was then known as the "Hackett Parish" was held at the Tom Thomson home on August 30, 1937, and was attended by Thomas Thompson, Henry Fadness, Guy Heaton, Reinhold Schmeckel, Richard Frohreich and Carl Schnoor. The signers of our first constitution (1937) were Carl H. Lange, Joseph Houtari, August Frohreich, William Schnoor, Reinhold Schmeckel, Richard Frohreich, Arthur C. Welberg and Theodore Strohschein. Our first Pastor was the Rev. E. W. Borchert (1935-1943). |
